We are delighted to announce that The Loft Café has been awarded a prestigious Gold award in the Café/Tearoom category of the Year category (sponsored by Somerset Chocolate Company) at the Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards 2025/26.

This recognition is a wonderful tribute to our dedicated team and to all who have joined us over the past year. Thank you to all for being part of The Loft community!

Situated above the Cathedral’s Entry Cloister, The Loft Café is open daily, and offers a cosy space to unwind with homemade treats, seasonal specials, and scenic views of the West Front and the Bishop’s Palace moat.

Freshly-prepared light lunches, cream teas, and a tempting range of cakes and pastries are also available, all made with local Somerset and Fairtrade produce wherever possible.

Visitors can enjoy sustainably-sourced coffees, speciality teas, and indulgent hot chocolates, with a loyalty card scheme offering every fifth hot drink free. The Loft is also dog-friendly, with biscuits and fresh water available for all four-legged companions.

All profits from The Loft Café go directly to supporting the work of Wells Cathedral, making every visit part of something bigger.
